2020 hasn’t been much fun, has it?
So now Christmas is almost here, it’s understandable that we want to crack open a bottle or two and let our hair down.
BUT – how do we address the issues of alcohol with our teenagers, without sounding like a nag – or worse still a hypocrite?
In this episode, I discuss the importance of having open conversations with our kids – sooner rather than later.
Of course, our children need to understand the challenges that drinking too much involves – but when we are in conversation with our kids – it helps to :
- Display Compassion and Understanding
- Set Exceptions
- Define the Ground Rules & Boundaries
- Avoid Judgement
I also give you a handy exercise that will help your teenager take back control if they find themselves in a tricky situation with friends.
